Videos and lyrics translated... I hope.

endnu en Ok.. so, a friend sent me a YouTube of this video called Endnu En (Another One) which I watched... a few times.. then started watching other videos by the same artists... and just.. got hooked. Something appealed about listening to this music tho I had no idea of the meaning, just loving the sound and the beautiful voices. I watched Hulahop alot as well, and was pleased to see parts of the video shot in Hollywood (Welcome to Hollywooood!). I got curious about what they were singing, so looked up and translated the lyrics as well as I could. Yes, many of them relate to booty.. but hey-they're men, and women (whether we admit to it or not) like to have their booty's appreciated. Such an overwhelming sense of having fun with life seems to prevail with this music from the start back in 2002 that I find it irresistable.Nik Yes, some of the songs ARE about clubs and partying-but who DIDN'T think about that when you were 22?? The music is perfect for dancing, and you can never have too much of that in your life. Their playlist also includes songs with social commentary, concerts and songs for aid relief (something called the Green Concert? HEY, this is a work in progress! patience..). To then find out that these guys are the first of their kind in their homeland was very interesting. They have ruffled the feathers of their countrymen who don't appreciate flash cars and outrageous clothing (a concept called Jante Law which frowns on excess) but then what fun is life if you can't make some waves? They started the label Nexus Music with the producer team Jon & Jules and have signed other Danish musicians like R&B artist Joey Moe and rapper Lars Ankerstjerne(AKA "Jinks"). The videos they have produced are highly polished and extremely entertaining. And the clothes! Don't even get me started~Lækker (delicious)! SO.. scroll down to find simultaneous translation to my fav videos as time permits. For a compilation of Nik & Jay songs you can go to my YouTube channel and watch the playlist I'm gathering. Some on the playlist are concert footage of the same songs already on the Nexus site, but it is SO amazing to see concert performances. They are SO high energy and in tune with their music and the audience. JayRemixes are frequent, so the shows don't seem to be the same from one to the next. In 2011 Nik & Jay have released a new album "Engle Eller Daemon" that is, a new facet of themselves. Mature, hypnotic, and several tracks in English!!! (which I think ROCK, but also again causing a little controversy from their native fans). They will be appearing at concerts for the many summer festivals in Denmark (and even a gig in Sweden-a first and hopefully a start to a world tour). There is even footage that they still play in clubs now and then (tho with no date on the footage, that might not be true). Nik & Jay look fabulous in everything from tshirts (or not!) to gorgeously tailored suits, so any decent vid is worth watching. Nik and Jay are maturing like a fine red wine (they've been at this for 8 years and the versatility in style is remarkable-both in music and fashion).
In every video I've seen, Nik & Jay look like they LOVE what they do, ultimate importance!

I want to translate the lyrics for non-Danish speaking fans because they can be compelling, honest, and in some instances very sweet. One site said that some of their songs (I would guess "En Dag Tilbage"/One Day Back) are sung at funerals. Things I've read from articles and website comments make it seem like their countrymen see them as very arrogant and conceited but I find a good bit of humility in a man who will admit he loves a woman and worry about whether or not she loves him back (I Love Ya). Perhaps it is a cultural difference, I don't know..perhaps my translations are crap (seriously I'm using Google translate and hoping my Danish friends will correct my mistakes), but here's my attempts :) ALSO if you want to see them singing in English, watch this video from Dhani (skip to 2:00 for Nik & Jay) where they rapped in English way back in 2004!

(*PLEASE NOTE:Translations are meant for meanining ONLY and are not an attempt at creating workable lyrics in English. ALSO if you switch windows, the flash player stops and waits for you to come back... getting itself out of sync with the video. If this happens, just hit refresh to start both over at the beginning.)
